STRAIT+ is now available on the App Store: StraitMagazine

StraitMagazine’s new app brings together the latest sailing news, sailing information, wind forecasts, a sporting calendar, equipment for sale and a community, all on a single digital platform.

22 October 2026. StraitMagazine is entering a new phase with the official launch of STRAIT+, its iPhone app, now available on the Apple App Store.

The project marks a further step in the evolution of a digital magazine created to tell the stories of the Strait of Gibraltar, which now incorporates tools designed to support its readers both on land and at sea.

From information on regattas to checking the wind conditions before setting sail, STRAIT+ brings together a range of nautical and sporting services in an app designed for mobile use.

Much more than a digital magazine

STRAIT+ retains the editorial essence of StraitMagazine, whilst expanding its possibilities.

The app allows users to view news, features and articles from the magazine, whilst also offering access to tools relating to sailing, weather conditions and sporting activities along the coast.

It is organised into five main sections: Home, Sail, Live Wind, Market and MY STRAIT.

These are complemented by services such as the Events Calendar, STRAIT Crew, the digital magazine and audiovisual content.

Live Wind and Navega: the sea takes centre stage

One of the main attractions of STRAIT+ is Live Wind, a section dedicated to wind sports that combines weather information, measurement stations (where data is available), forecasts and reports from sailors themselves.

This tool allows users to check conditions at different spots in the Strait and along the coastline between Cádiz and Málaga.

Meanwhile, Navega brings together links to information on wind, currents, marinas and maritime radio bulletins, making it easy to access various resources of interest to those heading out to sea.

The information provided complements, but does not replace, official maritime safety sources.

A community that also gets involved

STRAIT+ incorporates a participatory dimension through STRAIT Market, a platform dedicated to the buying and selling of nautical and sporting equipment, and STRAIT Crew, designed to connect boats with people interested in sailing.

The Calendar highlights upcoming regattas, championships and sporting events, whilst MI STRAIT allows users to personalise their experience through favourites, saved events and other features linked to their user account.

A project born in the Strait that looks beyond

The Strait of Gibraltar is the starting point for STRAIT+, a region where cultures converge, major maritime routes meet and some of the best conditions for wind sports can be found.

From Ceuta and Gibraltar to Tarifa, Algeciras, La Línea, Sotogrande, Cádiz and the Costa del Sol, StraitMagazine continues to expand the way it brings information and services to the sailing community.

With this first public release for iPhone, STRAIT+ is embarking on a new phase in which the app will continue to evolve with new improvements and services.
