Pretty Sailing firma un octavo puesto y afronta la jornada decisiva del Mundial de J/80

El equipo del Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club cerró la tercera jornada del Mundial de J/80 de Kingston con su mejor resultado hasta el momento: un destacado octavo puesto en la sexta manga.

Con seis pruebas disputadas y un descarte aplicado, Amy Pretty, Monty Spindler, James Turner y Lewis Agate ocupan la 18.ª posición de la clasificación general y la 10.ª entre los equipos Corinthian, con 88 puntos netos.

Una jornada marcada por el viento

La flota compitió en condiciones exigentes, con vientos de componente suroeste que rondaron los 20 nudos y continuos cambios de intensidad y dirección.

Pretty Sailing fue mejorando durante la jornada hasta cerrar el día con una sólida octava posición, un resultado que refuerza al equipo antes de la última jornada del campeonato.

Hasta cuatro mangas en la jornada decisiva

El Comité de Regatas ha comunicado su intención de celebrar este viernes hasta cuatro nuevas mangas, siempre que las condiciones meteorológicas lo permitan.

Todo continúa abierto en Kingston para el equipo del Estrecho de Gibraltar, que afronta la jornada final con el objetivo de seguir escalando posiciones en la clasificación.

The Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club team completed the third day of the J/80 World Championship in Kingston with its best result of the event so far: an impressive eighth place in Race 6.

After six races and one discard, Amy Pretty, Monty Spindler, James Turner and Lewis Agate sit 18th overall and 10th in the Corinthian fleet, with 88 net points.

A demanding day on the water

The fleet raced in challenging conditions, with south-westerly winds of around 20 knots and frequent changes in both strength and direction.

Pretty Sailing improved throughout the day before completing the final race in a strong eighth position, a result that gives the team fresh momentum ahead of the final day of the championship.

Up to four races planned for the decisive day

The Race Committee has announced its intention to hold up to four races on Friday, weather permitting.

Everything remains open in Kingston for the Strait of Gibraltar team as they head into the final day aiming to continue climbing the standings.
